Weaver/Textile Artist
As a textile artist, my work is rooted in the traditional techniques of weaving and embroidery.
Weaving is universal, and it is a systematic, sequential process that employs logic in much the same way as mathematics.
I enjoy the feeling of serenity I experience working at my loom, and I find satisfaction in “building” cloth, one row at a time. I take pleasure in the creation of unlimited patterns, and I find comfort in the rhythm of repetition. In metaphorical terms, weaving is a part of everyone’s life. We each weave the fabric of our own lives, and every life tells a story woven together one day at a time, row upon row. If we are lucky, our lives have some constant “thread” that ties us to the past and leads us to the future.
